ABOUT THE BLOG

Hello lovely,

Welcome to Let’s Chat OCD, a safe corner of the internet where we can chat openly and honestly about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and mental health.

​

 I have lived with contamination OCD since I was a child. Growing up and living with OCD feels like a constant battle.  It was only in the last couple of years that I finally had the courage to speak up and get help. I’m now on my journey of learning how to conquer OCD with the help of medication and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

​

This little corner of the internet was created so I can share my experience of OCD anonymously. I discuss topics such as symptoms, therapy, self-care and stigma.  By doing so I hope to spread awareness of mental illness. I want to educate others on what it’s really like to live with OCD to break the stigma that those of us with mental illness still face. I also hope that it shows how each case of OCD manifests differently. I felt so alone and even questioned whether my illness was real because I couldn’t find anyone with the same triggers as me. I want others to realise that their personal experience is valid. Although everyone will have a unique experience with OCD and mental illness, I hope by discussing mine it will make others realise they are not alone.
